Medical Networks

PEHP has four network options from which our members and employers can choose.  Employers may or may not require the use in-network providers for benefits to be payable.  If swing-out (out of network) benefits are payable, fees are only allowable up to the in-network fee schedule.

Advantage Network

The Advantage Network is an Intermountain Healthcare (IHC) facilities-based network.  PEHP contracts separately and directly with all physicians and other service providers in this network.  The Advantage Network may be offered by Employers on a stand-alone basis or in combination with the Summit Network or Capital Network.

Summit Network

The Summit Network includes Steward Health, MountainStar, and University of Utah Health Care facilities and physicians.  Primary Children’s Hospital and all Intermountain Healthcare (IHC) rural facilities are also included. PEHP contracts separately and directly with all physicians and other providers in this network.  The Summit Network may be offered by Employers on a stand-alone basis or in combination with the Advantage Network.

Capital Network

The Capital Network is primarily centered around Steward Health and University of Utah Healthcare facilities and associated practitioners. This network also includes Primary Children's Hospital and all rural facilities. Some Capital Network plans do not have out-of-network benefits.  The Capital Network may be offered by Employers on a stand-alone basis or in combination with the Advantage Network.

Preferred Network

The Preferred Network includes all major hospitals in the state. PEHP contracts directly with all providers in this network.
